Sexting Bundle Scotland
Empower your classes with these lesson plans which allow pupils to consider different types of sexting and why the adolescent brain is so tempted by it.
Our lesson plans in the Sexting Bundle, Scotland are suitable for ages 11-18 years. We introduce pupils to the fantastic, plastic adolescent brain with all its strengths and vulnerabilities around sex. Sexting can be abusive and lead to mental health problems as well as relationship difficulties. Knowing how their brain works helps pupils take better control of their behavior. It would be easy to treat sexting as technology-assisted flirting. But, it is clearly more than that because of the widespread use of sexting in cyberbullying and sexual harassment.
Coercive sexting can cause chronic distress and long-term harm to some pupils, especially young women. It has serious implications for the perpetrator in terms of jobs if reported to the police. This 3-lesson bundle allows pupils to consider the impact of different types of sexting. They will look at why sexting attracts the adolescent brain. The lessons state the fact that it is illegal for them to engage in sexting even if they consent, and what they can do about it.
