Darryl and Mary took part in the OnlinePROTECT conference “It’s just online, isn’t it?” in London on 28 April 2016. They set out the latest research into the brain changes brought about by compulsive use of internet pornography. The conference addressed young people and the internet, considering young people as both victims and as perpetrators.

The event was a fundraiser for The Lucy Faithfull Foundation (LFF) the only UK-wide child protection charity dedicated solely to reducing the risk of children being sexually abused. LFF have 2 key projects.

Stop it Now! reaches out to adults concerned about their own behaviour towards children, or that of someone they know, as well as professionals, survivors and protective adults. The Stop it Now! confidential Freephone Helpline – 0808 1000 900 – is available from 9.00am – 9.00pm Mondays to Thursdays and from 9.00am – 5.00pm Fridays.

The second LFF project is Parents Protect! that targets parents, carers and other protective adults with very useful information and advice to help them prevent child sexual abuse.
